Using Plugins

Top  Previous  Next

Plugins give EscapeE the ability to modify the appearance of documents in a controlled way. Current plugins include:

MoveText - allows existing text to be moved about and/or have its font or colour changed.

AddText - allows new text to be added in any desired font or colour.

AddImage - allows an image (BMP, TIFF, RIF or PCX) to be added to the document. Dynamic images may be selected using names (or parts of names) extracted from the data.

Barcodes - allows text to be converted into any of the common barcode formats including 2-D types.

OCR - Optical Character Recognition plugin converts images of characters into true text; see OCR plugin configuration.

New plugins are regularly being developed and RedTitan can provide custom plugins to perform specific tasks: contact RedTitan for more information.

There is a button on the EscapeE toolbar which allows plugins to be enabled or disabled.

To use a plugin you must must have purchased the feature and installed the appropriate permission code. Then define a field or a tag which identifies where and when the plugin is to be invoked: see  Defining data fields and tags, Defining a composite field and Setting search tag options.
