Setting up Substitute fonts

To set up PDF and PS substitute fonts

1.Right-click the mouse on the piece of text and select Font Properties from the 'pop-up' menu
or
select Fonts in use... from the 'Fonts' menu.
2.Click Substitute to display the Font Substitute dialogue.
3.Select Specific to edit the Substitute font file for the current document
or
Default to edit the Default substitute font file.
4.Click the PDF font button to display the Fonts dialogue.
5.Select the font family, style and size for the new substitute PDF font.
6.Click OK or Save as to save the substitutes in a new file.
7.Click OK.

To set up a substitute screen font

1.Right-click the mouse on the piece of text and select Font Properties from the 'pop-up' menu
or
select Fonts in use... from the 'Fonts' menu.
2.Click the Substitute to display the Font Substitute dialogue.
3.Select Specific to edit the Substitute font file for the current document
or
Default to edit the Default substitute font file.
4.Click the Screen font button to display the Fonts dialogue.
5.Select the font family, style and size for the new substitute screen font.
6.Click OK or Save as to save the substitutes in a new file.
7.The new screen substitute font is entered in the Font properties dialogue; click OK
Tip: If the characters shown in the sample text panel are not the same as those you have chosen to be displayed, check that you have set up the correct Symbol set on the General page of the 'Options | Configuration...' dialogue. You may need to change the Source Type: try Windows driver or other.

Changing the PDF/PS substitute font

To change the PDF/PostScript substitute font for any resident font

1.Select Resident fonts... from the 'Fonts' menu.
2.Select the new font from the list of resident fonts.
3.Right-click to display the pop-up dialogue and select Change substitute font.
4.The substitute font dialogue is shown with the chosen font's attributes filled in; click OK
