About fields and tags |
|
|
Data fields are commonly defined by their position on a page, see To define a field. Fields can also be defined as being located at some offset relative to a 'search tag' that is matched against items in a specified area of the page: see To set up tags. A search tag can be a text string, a graphic or part of a graphic, or a font characteristic such as a particular style, point size, typeface, weight etc., see Setting search tag options. Used in conjunction with Composed strings, complex search criteria can be defined, see Examples. Fields can also be moved to be 'children' of different tags. In the 'Fields Definition' window the hierarchy of fields and their related tags can be easily viewed as a 'tree'. Note that a field will only be output if all its parent tags are recognized. A tag can be linked to an overlay by specifying a macro number in the box and whether that overlay is to be turned on or off when it recognizes the selected tag. See also |
